Young Composer's Camp
The Young Composer's Camp is our newest addition to our summer camp curriculum, dedicated to music students with an interest in composing their own original music! Each day of camp we will focus on a famous composer and an important piece of music they have contributed to the world of music. Through various activites, students will learn about techniques used to compose, through the compositions we study in camp. Local composers from our community will come in to hold workshops with the children and help them learn the craft. With the help of camp counselors, children will add to their compositions each day, perfecting it as the week goes by. By the end of the week, each student will have their own completed composition and have the opportunity to perform their piece, or have it performed by the camp counselors, during the final performance at Cozmic Pizza!
Compositions that will be studied will include works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig Van Beethoven, Robert Schumann and John Williams.
Camps are one week long and size is limited (8-15 students). Full-day camps will be from 9:00am - 3:00pm (Drop off as early as 8:45am and pick up as late as 3:15pm). Early registration is recommended. Camps are intended for children only, though parents may stay and observe if they wish.
If a cancellation is made in writing at least 2 weeks (14 days) prior to the start of the program then 100% of program fees will be refunded, minus the non-refundable deposit. If a cancellation is made within one week (7 days) prior to the first day of camp, 50% of program fees will be refunded, minus the non-refundable deposit.
